In accordance with § 94 Sec. 2, subpara 1 of the Austrian Universities Act, the Faculty of Law at the Johannes Kepler University Linz announces a tenured faculty opening for a Professor of Civil Law

The Faculty of Law at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a professorship position as Professor of Civil Lawto begin immediately. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the Austrian Universities Act. A faculty performance review will be conducted after a 5-year period.

The position involves representing and further developing Austrian civil law in its full scope, including its connections to European law, in both teaching and research. Detailed requirements are documented in a position profile available online at https://www.jku.at/professuren.

A habilitation in the field of civil law or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification is required. In addition, the following are essential:

• an outstanding academic track record in civil law
• extensive teaching experience, including supervision of diploma theses and dissertations
• academic lecturing activities
• international networking

Willingness to take on administrative responsibilities within university self-governance is also expected. In addition to subject-specific qualifications, particular importance is placed on social competence.

An annual gross salary above the minimum amount of € 92,460.20 as stated in the collective agreement will be voluntarily offered (based on FT employment).
