A call is open for the award of 1 Postdoctoral Fellowship within the scope of the project Digital Twins (2025.00122.DT4ST, cc-0404020112), funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), I.P. through PRR funds.

1. Scientific Area

Information management and metadata of 2D and 3D images of cultural assets.

2. Recipient category/profile

Mandatory requirements:

• PhD in Conservation and Restoration or related areas.

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in multidisciplinary work with museum institutions
• Experience in data organisation

3. Work plan

The selected fellow will carry out tasks in the following activities:

3.1. Collaborate in defining the procedure for managing information and metadata of 2D and 3D images of cultural assets, in accordance with national heritage standards.
3.2. Validation of the quality of 2D and 3D images.
3.3. Management of public availability of images and metadata.

4. Applicable legislation and regulations

5. Workplace

The work will be carried out at various sites foreseen in the project, according to needs, under the scientific supervision of Professors Márcia Vilarigues and Nuno Correia. The contracting institution will be the Faculty of Science and Technology of NOVA University Lisbon, and the host entities will be the research units NOVA LINCS and VICARTE, and externally the Cultural Heritage Institute (Património Cultural, IP).

6. Duration of the fellowship

The fellowship will last for 6 months, starting in October 2025. The fellowship contract may be renewed within the duration of the project.

7. Monthly maintenance allowance

The fellowship amount is €1,851.00, according to the table of values for fellowships directly awarded by FCT, I.P. in Portugal. Payment will be made monthly by bank transfer.

8. Selection methods

Candidates will be evaluated on a scale of 0 to 20, considering the weighting of the following selection methods:

• a) Curriculum evaluation (75%)
• b) Relevant prior knowledge for project execution (25%)

The fellowship may not be awarded if applications are not suitable.

10. Notification/publication of results

The draft decision of the jury’s evaluation will be notified within 90 days after the application deadline, by email, providing access to the minutes and provisional ranking list.

After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision, under the prior hearing procedure, in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Code. The final decision will be taken after this period and will again be notified to all candidates by email. An appeal may be submitted within 15 working days (to the email used for notification) or a formal complaint may be submitted within 30 working days, addressed to the Secretariat of the Department of Computer Science (di.secretariado@fct.unl.pt).

* For academic degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, in order to ensure equal treatment of applicants holding foreign and national degrees, recognition of these degrees and conversion of the final classification to the Portuguese grading scale is mandatory.
