We search for a motivated researcher from Biology, Agronomy, or Environmental Sciences fields who has a background on meditarranean agricultural sytems (particularly arable crops), familiar with topics like crop husbandry (e.g. rotation and intercropping), and weed management.

Skills/Qualifications

A recent PhD in Biology, Agronomy, Environmental Sciences, or a related field but mandatory in-depth knowledge of Mediterranean arable crop systems, including crop husbandry and weed management practices.

Proficiency in field experiment design, field sampling and data management and analysis.

Excellent communication skills to interact with a different range of stakeholders (farmers, advisors, and other stakeholders from the value chain).

Ability to work independently and as part of an international team.

Specific Requirements

The candidate must be proficient in arable field experimental design, field sampling and data management and analysis, and have a deep understanding of Mediterranean arable organic crop systems. This is a one-year postdoctoral contract (possible extension for another one-year) to (1) design and manage agroecological innovations experiments at field scale in an agricultural area close to Barcelona,(2) manage and analyse field data and (3) collaborate with European partners of the SUNRISE international project. Knowledge of Catalan may be taken into account.
