** Project Summary:

This project is related to machine learning for Urban Informatics. In this context, the intersection between the urban infrastructure and digital technologies plays an essential role. The aim is to develop computational tools to capture and to analyze geometric urban data to answer important questions regarding cities. In particular, the following subjects will be considered: sidewalk representation, simulation, and analysis by using concepts and methods from machine learning, including pattern recognition, graphs, and complex networks.

** Specific Research Areas:
* Develop concepts and algorithms to analyze urban structures
* Urban informatics applications for sidewalks analysis

** Candidate Qualifications:
* PhD in Physics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong background in mathematical modeling and programming.
* Research experience and publications in machine learning, complex networks, and mathematical modeling.
* Excellent English communication skills (written and oral).

** About the Fellowship:
The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP fellowship with potential benefits including:
