Based on Articles 48 Paragraph 1 of the Statute of the Institute, Class: 007-02/23-01/01, Registry No.: 251-768-08-23-4 of 16 September 2023, the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), Zagreb, announces the following

VACANCY

for the scientific position of Senior Research Associate in the scientific area of social sciences, field of economics at the Department of Resource Economics, Environmental Protection and Regional Development, 1 position (m/f).

The employment contract will be concluded for a permanent position with part-time work of 8 hours per week, and with the obligation of reappointment or promotion to a higher scientific position every 5 years.

Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• criteria set out in Article 39, paragraphs 1 and 3 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity ("Official Gazette" no. 119/2022) https://irmo.hr/zakoni-i-podzakonski-akti/

• excellent command of spoken and written Croatian and English.

Applicants must submit:

1. Cover letter including the applicant’s full name, address, phone/mobile number, email, and the title of the position and department being applied for.
2. Curriculum Vitae detailing work history (including date of birth, citizenship, academic qualifications/degrees, foreign language proficiency, scientific society memberships, awards, etc.).
3. Proof of academic degree (foreign degree holders must provide an opinion or decision on recognition of foreign qualifications by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education, or proof of having submitted a request for such recognition).
4. Proof of appointment to a scientific title (if applicable).
5. List of published scientific papers (if not already appointed to a scientific title, applicants must also submit relevant papers in PDF format in accordance with the Ordinance).
6. Proof of meeting the additional criteria as per the IRMO Ordinance on Additional Conditions (link above).
7. Printout from the Croatian Scientific Information System (CroRIS) showing all scientific works relevant to the position.
8. Proof of indexing and citation of works issued by an authorized library.
9. Proof of English language proficiency (certificates, diplomas, transcript excerpts, published works in English or Croatian, etc.).
10. Proof of Croatian language proficiency at level C2 (only for foreign nationals).
11. Electronic record or confirmation of data from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute.

Applicants who meet the formal requirements will go through a selection procedure.

General provisions:

A 6-month probationary period may be agreed with the selected candidate. As part of the selection procedure, the employer may also test applicants who meet the formal requirements of the competition.
