The research group of Neurogenetics and Aging of IMBB under in the of the R&D project Excellence Hubs, CHAngeing - Connected Hubs in Ageing: Healthy Living to Protect Cerebrovascular Function (reference: GA: 101087071), financed by European Commission through the Horizon Europe Program, invites applications for one (1) postdoctoral position.


Job Description: Study of anti-aging metabolic regulators for the prevention of cerebrovascular disease


  • Skills/Qualifications: • Qualifications: Successful applicants should hold a BSc in Biology, and PhD in Biology, Biomedicine, or related fields, and have extensive documented experience in molecular biology techniques. They should also have expertise in C. elegans genetics, neurodegeneration and autophagy, as well as super resolution microscopy techniques. Expertise in chemogenetics and glial cells will be highly valued. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate excellent scientific writing skills, have a strong publication record in relevant peer-reviewed journals, and possess fluency in English.

  • Specific Requirements: • Applicants for the post will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:
  • • Evaluation criteria:
    • 1. BSc degree in Biology (Grade x 1 points) – Maximum points: 10
    • 2. PhD thesis in Biology/Biomedicine or related fields – YES/NO
    • 3. Extensive documented experience in molecular biology techniques (1-5 years = 5 points, >5 years = 10 points) – Maximum points: 10
    • 4. Documented experience in C. elegans genetics (1-3 years = 5 points, >3 years = 10 points) – Maximum points: 10
    • 5. Documented experience in chemogenetics (5 points) and glial cells (5 points) – Maximum points: 10
    • 6. Documented experience in autophagy (5 points) and neurodegeneration (5 points) – Maximum points: 10
    • 7. Documented experience in super-resolution microscopy techniques (1-2 years = 5 points, >2 years = 10 points) – Maximum points: 10
    • 8. Scientific publications (1-15 publications = 5 points, >15 publications = 10 points) – Maximum points: 10
    • 9. Oral and written skills in English (B1/B2: 5 points, C1/C2: 10 points) – Maximum points: 10
    • 10. Interview* (by videoconference, for the shortlisted candidates > 60/75 points) – Maximum points: 20
    • TOTAL: 100
