Postdoctoral researcher

Job position requirements

- PhD degree in Rural Anthropology, Development Studies, Environmental Social Science, Political Ecology, Human Geography, or closely related disciplines.
- Master’s degree and/or background in Anthropology, Geography, Environmental Sciences, or related disciplines.
- Training and experience in rural ethnography and qualitative fieldwork.Excellent command of office software.
- Knowledge on data analysis (Stata, R, or similar) will be an asset.
- Excellent command of English Language is required (C1 or B2).
- Excellent command of the main language where fieldwork may be located (e.g. Spanish, Italian, French, German, etc) is required.
- Command of Catalan Language is desirable.
- Fieldwork research experience in rural areas is required.
- Experience with/in organisations focused on rural development issues will be an asset.
- Ability to work and study independently, to define goals, methods and work towards them.
- Ability and commitment to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a research team.
- Availability to travel to conferences and fieldwork.
- Ability to create and contribute to a well-functioning, inclusive, and productive research environment.
- A good knowledge and understanding of the pastoralism/wildlife, and rural development literature.
- Clear links to the research places that the candidate wishes to focus on including relevant language skills.
- Methodological skills that allow development of research protocols required to answer the questions posed.

Benefits
- Gross salary per year: 36.600€ gross salary aprox/year

- Additional training in the specific field of the project and/or a related area: 5
