1. Approval by absolute merit:
1.1 The Jury will deliberate on the approval or rejection of absolute merit, by justified nominal vote, with abstentions not permitted.
1.2 A candidate is considered to be approved by absolute merit if they obtain a favorable vote from more than half of the voting jury members.
1.3 Candidates with a scientific and curricular track record relevant to the scientific area(s) of the competition and appropriate to the additional weighting criteria identified will be approved by absolute merit.
1.4 A negative vote on approval by absolute merit may also be justified if the Scientific Project prepared by the candidate is clearly insufficient or unrelated to the scientific area(s), contains serious errors, or is not supported by the candidate’s previous work.
2. Under article 5 of the RJEC, selection is carried out by evaluating the scientific and curricular track record of the candidates over the past 5 years.
3. Scientific and curricular assessment process:
3.1 Evaluation criteria include the quantity, quality, diversity, relevance, timeliness, and impact of the following:
- • Scientific and technological production, which is given a weighting factor of 50%, and includes the following criteria:
- • Number of publications in indexed journals with impact factor.
- • Nature and content of publications related to themes of interest to the project topic.
- • Experience in management, coordination, and implementation of community projects, preferably in the area of active mobility and child participation, which is given a weighting factor of 40%, considering the following as criteria:
- • Contribution to the development and evolution of themes related to active mobility and child participation.
- • Diversity of experiences and demonstrated skills.
- Experience in mentoring, guidance, and organization of scientific studies and collaborations, which is given a weighting factor of 10%, considering as criteria the number and type of:
- • Supervision of master’s and/or doctoral students and coordination or participation in studies and publications.
- • National and international collaborations.
3.2. The 3 candidates approved in absolute merit and with the highest scores in the scientific and curricular evaluation process will be invited to an interview, held in person or by videoconference, to clarify the assessment of the criteria identified in point 13.1. The interview will consider the following criteria:
- a) Presentation of the academic and professional background, with a weighting factor of 30%,
- b) Critical contribution to the ASAS project, with a weighting factor of 40%,
- c) Motivation and interest in the scientific field and the role, with a weighting factor of 30%,
3.3. The Jury may, whenever deemed necessary, request additional documents supporting the declarations of the candidate, which are relevant for the analysis and ranking of the application.
3.4. The final score will result from the weighted average of the curriculum evaluation (60%) and interview (40%).
4. Ranking of candidates in the selection process.
4.1. Each member of the jury assigns a score to each candidate in each evaluation criterion, on a scale from 0 to 20, ranking the candidates according to their final score, consisting of the sum of the partial scores assigned in each evaluation criterion, considering the weighting given to each parameter.
4.2. Candidates are ranked using the successive voting method described in Article 20, sections 3 and following, of the General Recruitment Regulations of the University of Lisbon, published by Order No. 2307/2015, on March 5.
4.3. The jury decides by absolute majority, with abstentions not permitted.
