The Museum of Cultural History, University of Oslo, has a vacant position as Postdoctoral Researcher (SKO 1352) linked to the interdisciplinary project “Clim-SHOCK: Unsustainable? Past Impacts and Future Challenges of Volcanic Climate Shocks”, a UiO:Energy and Environment Convergence Environment.


The appointment period is 3 years, with 10% mandatory duties. The mandatory duties will be within museum work, cultural heritage management and collections management according to a detailed plan.


The workplace will be at the museum’s Department of Archaeology, with office facilities in central Oslo. Partial co-location with other members of the Clim-SHOCK convergence environment is also planned.


Appointment to a postdoctoral position is intended to qualify researchers for work in leading academic positions.


The appointee must hold a PhD in archaeology or related fields, have authored high-quality publications, and have demonstrated intellectual drive and collaborative skills. The candidate must be motivated to contribute to the shared scientific goals of the Clim-SHOCK project.
