A call is hereby open for the award of one Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, within the scope of the RE-IMAGINE-CROPS-HOP Project (101271568 – GAP-10127156), funded by European Union funds, to be carried out at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of NOVA University of Lisbon (NOVA FCT), under the following conditions:

Mandatory Admission Requirements

In order to be considered eligible, applicants must cumulatively meet the following requirements:

• • Hold a PhD degree in Plant Biology or in closely related scientific fields, obtained within the three years preceding the submission date of the application, from an institution other than the host institution of the Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.

Applicants who obtained their degree abroad must provide proof of its recognition in Portugal, in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16 August. Supporting documents must be submitted no later than the contracting phase of the fellowship and may, until that moment, be replaced by a sworn statement, according to the template provided at the end of this Call.

• • Demonstrate relevant scientific and laboratory experience in plant biology, acquired during the PhD or previous scientific activities, namely in metabolomics and transcriptomics analysis techniques applied to plants.
• • Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a team, autonomy in carrying out tasks, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• • Demonstrate excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.

Preferred Requirement (non-eliminatory)

Previous experience in experimental studies with wheat.

Place of Work:

The work will be carried out at the Department of Chemistry of NOVA FCT, under the scientific supervision of Professor Filipe Natálio, PhD.

Duration of the Fellowship

The fellowship will have an initial duration of 24 months, renewable up to the maximum legal limit of 36 months applicable to Postdoctoral Research Fellowships, under the terms of the NOVA Research Fellowship Regulation and within the duration of the project.

Monthly Maintenance Allowance

The fellowship amount corresponds to €1,851.00, in accordance with the current table of values of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. (FCT) applicable to Postdoctoral Research Fellowships. Payment will be made monthly by bank transfer.

Mandatory Application Documents

Applications must include the following documents:

• • Curriculum Vitae, including links to publications;
• • Motivation letter (maximum 1 page);
• • Academic degree certificate (or proof of degree completion) and, where applicable, proof of degree recognition in Portugal (as referred to in point 2 of the Admission Requirements), without prejudice to the submission of the diploma or recognition at the contracting phase, which may at this stage be replaced by a sworn statement declaring that such documents will be submitted in due time;
• • Any other documentation proving compliance with the Admission Requirements.
