IMol has been established to conduct scientific research and provide training in the fields of biological, chemical, medical, biotechnological, bioinformatics, biophysical, pharmacological, and similar sciences, in the international environment conducive to collaborative efforts, research and development interactions with the biotechnological industry, and wide dissemination of our results. We aim at the development of solutions that will help everyone on this planet live a safer life.

At the moment, IMol is looking for a candidate for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher in Warsaw, Poland, for the implementation of the project OPUS 29 no 2025/57/B/NZ3/04162 financed by the National Science Center.

Project Leader: Dr Michał Wasilewski, Prof. Agnieszka Chacinska Group (https://imol.institute/leaders/chacinska-group/)

Project title: “Role of interaction of the TOM translocase with BAG2 and TRABD proteins in the proteostasis of mitochondria”

Download the description of the project: https://www.ncn.gov.pl/sites/default/files/listy-rankingowe/2025-03-17-mmatyB0da2/streszczenia/650583-en.pdf

Short description of the group and/or the project: Translocase of the outer membrane (TOM) is the main entry gate to mitochondria, through which nascent proteins are imported into mitochondria. It is also a hot spot for protein quality control, which interacts with the ubiquitin-proteasome system, the cytosolic chaperones, and other proteostatic surveillance mechanisms. The project aims to explore how novel partners of the TOM complex identified by our group support protein homeostasis.
