Ricercatore Microscopista - CNAP_70_26 - Fondazione Biotecnopolo di Siena

The selected candidate shall primarily be responsible for:

• • Research in molecular and cellular microbiology applied to highly antibiotic-resistant bacteria and epidemic/pandemic-risk viruses, including work in Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) environments. In particular, the candidate will design, optimize, and perform confocal and high-resolution microscopy experiments to characterize pathogens of interest and candidate therapeutics (e.g. monoclonal antibodies and vaccines) developed at FBS/CNAP.
• • Responsibility for experimental design and execution, data analysis, drafting of reports and scientific articles, and presentation of results in appropriate venues.
• • Assistance and training of FBS/CNAP colleagues in designing and performing assays requiring confocal and high-resolution microscopy.
• • Interaction and collaboration with the data science group for analysis of microscopy-generated images.
• • Supervision of PhD students and undergraduate/master’s thesis students.
• • Active participation in the design and implementation of the microscopy facility, from infrastructure and equipment planning to operational integration and experimental validation.
• • Responsibility for the management and maintenance of confocal and high-resolution microscopes available at FBS/CNAP, including interaction with internal technical staff and/or external companies.
• • Collaboration with internal and external FBS/CNAP partners, including within shared research projects.
