Optical emission spectroscopy is a widely used technique for plasma diagnostics, ranging from electrical discharges to thermonuclear fusion. Characterized by its non-intrusive nature, this method analyzes the radiation emitted by the studied object. A deep understanding of atomic and molecular spectra is essential for practical applications, which requires experimental measurement and detailed spectral analysis.

This research will generate new data primarily valuable in the fields of optical emission spectroscopy, astronomy, plasma modeling, and in the study of electron-induced elementary processes.

The objective of the project is to investigate electron–molecule collisions using optical emission spectroscopy, with a focus on spectral analysis and the determination of cross-sections for specific reactions. The postdoc will be actively involved in data analysis and preparation of manuscripts for publication. Collaboration with international partners will be an integral part of the postdoc’s role in the project.

We are offering a postdoc position starting from October 1st, 2025. The contract length is 1 year with possibility of extension up to 3 years.

Gross salary: approximately 1700 EUR/month.
