Position Summary

Applications are invited for the role of Post-Doctoral Researcher within the School of Applied Social Studies.

The School of Applied Social Studies at UCC has a reputation for inclusive, participatory based, research with adults with intellectual disability (id+ Project | University College Cork). The position advertised here will build on this expertise.

Inclusive Co-Learning and Inclusive Research with Students with Intellectual Disability in Higher Education

The PATH 4 Phase 2 funded id+ futures Project delivers 2 rights-based, inclusive education programmes for people with intellectual disabilities (ID) at UCC which:

promote and embed a rights-based approach to third-level education for people with ID based on the human rights principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
provide university-based co-learning opportunities for students with and without ID
contribute to development of capacity in inclusive teaching, learning and assessment across the Higher and Further Education sectors
develop inclusive research resources to support people with ID to engage as ‘experts by experience’ in academic research.

Project Title: id+ Futures Project

Post Duration: 12 months

Salary: €45,847 - €52,339 per annum, IUA PD1
