The team “Post-Transcriptional control of immunity and tumorigenesis” led by Dr. Manuel Diaz-Munoz at the Toulouse Institute for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases (INFINITY, https://www.infinity.inserm.fr/en/) is seeking an enthusiastic immunologist/biologist to investigate how timely control of mRNA location and translation shapes adaptive immune responses to external antigens and in cancer.

In collaboration with Dr. Vera Pancaldi at the Cancer Research Center of Toulouse (CRCT) (https://www.crct-inserm.fr/en/), and in the context of a project fully funded by the French National Cancer Institute (INCA), we aim to understand how RNA-binding proteins control the subcellular location of mRNAs and the mutagenesis machinery in normal B lymphocytes and in aggressive cancer cells. By analyzing data collected with cutting-edge technologies (trancriptomics, translatomics, RNA:protein and protein:protein interactomics) from human patients, animal models and cancer cell lines, we aim to uncover the impact of such RNA mechanisms in the development of long-term immune protection through vaccination, as well as targeting cancer cell genome stability and cell death.

2. The applicants are expected to have a strong mixed background in biology analysis in the field of immunology and/or RNA biology. Previous knowledge in fundamental research is needed with proven knowledge in most relevant methodologies in the field. The ideal candidates should be highly motivated, curious, and enthusiastic to work in a highly collaborative team. Proven ability to identify research objectives and meet agreed deadlines, self-motivation, flexibility, and assistance to other ongoing research work is essential. Written and communication skills in English are required. International training will constitute an advantage.
