Profile of a candidate/requirements:

  • • Obtained a PhD degree in biological or medical sciences before the start of employment (candidates without a PhD are required to provide documentation confirming the scheduled date of their thesis defense). The candidate should have obtained a doctoral degree no earlier than 7 years before 1 January of the year of employment in the project. This period may be extended under special circumstances, in accordance with the Terms of Financing: https://ncn.gov.pl/sites/default/files/pliki/uchwaly-rady/2024/uchwala5… (pages 41–42)
  • • Documented experience in in vitro experimenting with cell lines, including both cell cultururing and the use of functional tests to assess cell phenotype characteristics (e.g., proliferation, migration).
  • • Knowledge of standard molecular biology techniques: working with nucleic acids (cloning, DNA and RNA isolation, qPCR) and proteins (Western Blot, ELISA).
  • • Experience in protein-protein and protein-DNA interaction research with using co-immunoprecipitation and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP-seq) methods
  • • Ability to conduct research using the scientific method and to employ statistical analysis tools
  • • Interest in cancer biology, ability to work in a team, and motivation to conduct scientific research.
  • • English and Polish language skills at a communicative level.
  • • Knowledge of confocal microscopy techniques would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:

  • • Working with bacteria to clone plasmid DNA
  • • In vitro experiments
  • • RNA isolation, qPCR, and sample preparation for RNAseq
  • • Protein analyses, including protein-protein interaction (Western blots, ELISA, coimmunoprecipitation)
  • • Protein-DNA interaction analysis (chromatin immunoprecipitation)
  • • Collaborating with other members of the research team on project tasks
  • • Participating in the preparation of scientific publications and presenting research results at national and international conferences
