University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture, Svetošimunska cesta 25, Zagreb announces

COMPETITION

for the selection of:

1. Associate position - Senior Assistant, in the scientific area: Biotechnical Sciences, scientific field: Agriculture, for a fixed term (4 years), full-time, for work on the project Mosaic of LIFE – “Habitat restoration, grassland birds conservation status improvement and promotion of nature-based solutions through a resilient mosaic Mediterranean landscape” (LIFE-2024-SAP-NAT), co-financed by the European Union (LIFE Programme – LIFE Environment and Climate Action) and the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund at the Department of Field Crops, Forage and Grassland, Division of Plant Science – 1 executor.

Candidates, in addition to the general conditions for establishing an employment relationship, must meet the conditions determined by the Law on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (NN 119/22) and the Statute of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture.

Along with the application bearing an original handwritten signature, candidates are required to enclose:

• • CV,
• • Proof of appropriate education level (copy of the diploma required for the position being applied for or decision/opinion of the Agency for Science and Higher Education if it is a foreign educational qualification),
• • Proof of citizenship (copy of ID card, passport, or birth certificate),
• • Signed statement - explicit consent for the announcement of the competition result on the Faculty's website.
• • For the position under item no. 2, candidates are additionally required to submit a transcript of records or a diploma supplement.

Candidates applying for the position under item no. 1 must meet the following requirement: completion of a university doctoral study programme in the field of biotechnical sciences, agriculture.

The selected candidate holding a foreign higher education qualification shall be required, prior to the conclusion of the employment contract, to submit a decision/opinion issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education on the recognition of the foreign educational qualification.

In accordance with the Gender Equality Act (Official Gazette nos. 82/08, 125/11, 20/12, 138/12, 69/17), applications are open to all qualified individuals regardless of gender.

Only candidates who submit complete and timely applications and meet the formal criteria will be considered. A complete application must include all required personal information, a signed application, and the required attachments.

The application must specify the position being applied for and include the candidate's personal information: full name, date of birth, address, phone number, and email address (if available).

Candidates claiming priority rights in employment under the following acts must explicitly state this in their application and provide supporting documents as required by law:

• • Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and their Family Members (Official Gazette nos. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21)
• • Article 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (Official Gazette nos. 33/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13, 98/19)
• • Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (Official Gazette no. 84/21)
• • Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette nos. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18, 32/20)

A candidate claiming the right of priority in employment under Article 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids must, in addition to proving that they meet the required conditions, submit a resolution or certificate confirming this right, as well as evidence of the manner in which their previous employment relationship ended.

A candidate claiming the right of priority in employment under Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities must provide proof of disability in addition to meeting the required conditions.

A candidate claiming the right of priority in employment under Article 22 of the Constitutional Act on the Rights of National Minorities is not required to provide evidence of their status as a member of a national minority but must still prove that they meet the required conditions.

The Faculty of Agriculture processes submitted personal data in accordance with applicable data protection regulations. The data will be used solely for the purpose of this selection process.

Candidates are subject to a probation period as per the Collective Agreement for Public Services Employees.
