The Postdoctoral Researcher will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary team located in Montpellier, France. The successful candidate will have full access to the state-of-the-art experimental facilities of the Laboratory of Mechanics and Civil Engineering (LMGC) and the Charles Gerhardt Institute Montpellier (ICGM). This unique position bridges the gap between civil engineering and materials chemistry, offering access to advanced equipment for material synthesis (freeze-casting setups), microstructural analysis (SEM), and electrochemical testing.

The main mission of the postdoctoral researcher will be to develop and optimize an innovative freeze-casting (ice-templating) protocol for our patented carbon-cement composites. He/She will lead experimental efforts to create materials with controlled and aligned porosity, and will be responsible for characterizing their microstructural, electrical, and electrochemical properties.

- Design and perform freeze-casting experiments, systematically optimizing process parameters.

- Perform microstructural characterization of composites using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).

- Conduct detailed electrochemical characterization (impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry) to evaluate performance in supercapacitor and resistive heating applications.

- Analyze data to correlate manufacturing parameters with final material properties.

- Fabricate and test functional prototypes.

- Contribute to the dissemination of results through the writing of scientific publications and participation in international conferences.
