An announcement for a competitionat The Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw - the one of the strongest Polish centers conducting research in the field of chemical sciences.


A position of assistant professor in the Opus 29 project entitled "A new high-energy hybrid system for energy storage in hydrogen absorbing alloys with ionic liquid-based electrolyte" financed by National Science Centre is open for application. Project leader: prof. dr hab. Andrzej Czerwiński.

The post-doc (assistant professor in a group of science positions) will run a research in exact and natural sciences, in discipline of chemical sciences.


People of all genders are invited to participate. Career Stage: R2. Position not related to activities covered by the protection of minors.


Main duties at this position:

  • • conducting scientific activities
  • • maintaining scientific documentation of conducted research
  • • preparing manuscripts for scientific publication
  • • daily duties related to the organization of laboratory work
  • • presentation of obtained research results

Skills/Qualifications

We are looking for motivated candidates:

  • • with a PhD degree in chemistry or related sciences obtained no earlier than 12 years before the date of employment or close to the defense date (required no later than the start of employment)
  • • good knowledge of English (at least B2 level)
  • • experience in modifying the surface of hydrogen absorbing alloys with metal nanoparticles
  • • experience in half-cell construction
  • • experience in conducting electrochemical studies in ionic liquids
  • • familiarized with NMR, IR, Raman, SEM/EDS techniques; electrochemical techniques: CV, CA, CP, EIS
  • • the candidate must meet the requirements of art. 113 of the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science dated July 20, 2018 (Polish Journal of Laws of 2024, no. 1571 as amended).
