An announcement for a competition at The Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw - the one of the strongest Polish centers conducting research in the field of chemical sciences.


A position of post-doc in the SONATA 19 project entitled "Harnessing of red and near-infrared light for reversible-deactivation radical polymerization" financed by National Science Centre is open for application. Project leader: Dr. Grzegorz Szczepaniak.


The post-doc (assistant professor in a group of science positions) will run a research in exact and natural sciences, in discipline of chemical sciences. People of all genders are invited to participate. Position is not related to activities covered by the protection of minors.

Main duties:

  • • Performing tasks planned in the project
  • • Collecting and analyzing experimental data
  • • Presenting obtained results, preparing reports and publications
  • • Supervising students during daily laboratory work

Skills/Qualifications

  • • PhD degree in chemistry (required in the first day of work at the latest), obtained no earlier than 7 years prior to the application date
  • • Good command of the English language
  • • Experience in Materials Science/Engineering, particularly in polymer synthesis via RDRP methods, demonstrated by publications in recognized journals.
  • • Knowledge of NMR and SEC techniques
  • • Strong motivation for laboratory work and ability to work in a team
  • • Documented research stays at foreign institutions
  • • The candidate must meet the requirements of art. 113 of the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science dated July 20, 2018 (Polish Journal of Laws of 2024, no. 1571 as amended).
