The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is preparing its Seventh Assessment Report (AR7) and the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will act as the Chapter Scientist, supporting the Working Group II Chapter 14 “Terrestrial, freshwater and cryospheric biodiversity, ecosystems and their Services” author team. IPCC Chapter Scientists work directly with the author team of their chapter and interact with a diverse group of chapter scientists across the IPCC Working Groups to help shape the next major global climate assessment. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will conduct frontline research and synthesis of the ecological impacts of climate change, on topics and approaches related to and supporting the IPCC assessment. The position is affiliated to the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, CeSAM Centre for Sustainable Area Management, and the Between the Fjords research group at the University of Bergen. The position is for a fixed term of three years and is financed by the University of Bergen.

  • • Support the assessment process, including literature reviews, the inclusion of Indigenous and Local Knowledge sources, and tracking review comments and replies.
  • • Compile and edit chapter content, managing references, and ensuring style-guide compliance.
