Project title: “Red and Near-Infrared Boron-Containing TADF Emitters for Advanced Optoelectronic and Bioimaging Applications”

Job description

Description of tasks: Design, synthesis, characterization, and investigation of the photophysical properties of organic boron-containing compounds exhibiting TADF (thermally activated delayed fluorescence) activity. Collaboration with computational and device-focused researchers to assess material suitability for optoelectronic devices. The work will be conducted in close collaboration with other PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and other co-investigators from the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IOC PAS) as well as cooperating Polish and international institutions.

PhD diploma in chemistry or materials science, awarded no earlier than 12 years before employment in the project (this period is extended by the duration of maternity/paternity leaves), or expected date of obtaining the PhD degree prior to commencement of work.

required competences

• • Good knowledge of organic chemistry (preferentially organoboron compounds), photophysical characterization, and device integration;
• • Good skills in NMR and fluorescence spectroscopies, quantum yield measurements, and molecular modelling.
• • Ability to analyse and interpret experimental data.
• • Scientific achievements documented by publications in recognized journals.
• • Knowledge of spoken and written English to the extent necessary for independent scientific work.
• • Ability to solve scientific problems.
• • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• • Experience in mentoring junior researchers.
• • Strong motivation and commitment to scientific research.

desirable competences

• • Knowledge of computational methods.
