The recruited person will work on the Science and Technology campus – Department of Biology. They will support Prof. Laurent Barillé, who coordinates the international Master's program ACES (Aquaculture, Environment, Society). The position will be hosted by the Remote Sensing Benthic Ecology & Ecotoxicology (RSBE2) team of the ISOMer laboratory. The Erasmus+ Joint Master Degree "Aquaculture, Environment, Society" (ACES-STAR) is coordinated by the University of Heraklion (Greece). It is regularly evaluated by the EACEA (European Education and Culture Executive Agency), which ensures that the proposed curriculum remains as attractive and innovative as possible. This recruitment request is made in this context, aiming to introduce new courses incorporating the latest technologies, specifically high-resolution drone mapping of aquaculture structures and virtual reality in teaching.

Missions: Implementation and participation in new courses for the ACES_STAR program will continue until 2028. To develop the use of drones for mapping aquaculture farms and organisms. To deploy drones equipped with multispectral cameras and LIDAR sensors. To exploit these drone-acquired data in virtual reality environments in collaboration with the start-up VR2PLANET to develop educational materials.

Main activities. Develop synchronous airborne acquisitions by drone using multispectral and LIDAR sensors in shellfish farming areas. Enhance drone-LIDAR data processing. Conduct drone mapping of aquaculture farm structures and generate high-resolution 3D data. Utilize field-acquired data on the virtual reality platform developed by the start-up VR2PLANET. Develop educational materials for the use of drones and virtual reality in aquaculture. Incorporate this new educational material in the Module Shellfish Live Cycle, Theory and Practicals.
