The project “Memories, Differences, and Relations” proposes a cross-sectional study of different dynamics of memory related to civil wars, decolonization processes, formation of states and national, ethnic, regional, and religious identities, among others. The objective of this project is to demonstrate how the expression of memory engenders and is engendered by disputes and conflicts surrounding historical aspects that different individuals consider should be remembered or forgotten, thus accentuating and mobilizing structuring differences and inequalities in their socio-cultural contexts.

The applications are open to researchers who will present and develop a research project that engages in dialogue with the themes of the thematic project and its research areas from an anthropological approach to contemporary Africa. The fellow will conduct theoretical and/or empirical research in the PPGCS/Unifesp or the PPGAS/Unicamp, participate in the Study Group on Mediation and Alterity - GEMA, present seminars, prepare articles and/or book chapters. The fellowships last for 36 months.
