- work environment: The postdoc will benefit from a permanent seat in the MARBEC laboratory and temporary space in the LIRMM laboratory. He/she will have access to all facilities, including annual budget and personal computer. He/she student will benefit from the Jean Zay supercomputer to perform intensive GPU calculations but also MARBEC/LIRMM GPU shared resources (https://umr-marbec.fr/recherche/dispositifs-de-recherche/den/). His/her functioning will be supported by several EU projects (participation to congress etc..).

- main mission: He/she will develop a new generation of predictive models incorporating abundance distribution across size classes, taxa, and morphotypes of fish, plankton and organic matter along with spatiotemporal anthropogenic and socioeconomic factors.

- activities: (1) Integrating seascape-level environmental and anthropogenic factors using deep learning and vision transformer models, (2) Incorporating past factor trends for more realistic predictions under the non-equilibrium hypothesis, (3) Leveraging transfer learning and foundation models (e.g., Prithvi-EO-2.0) to enhance prediction accuracy, (4) Utilizing large language models to capture cascading ecological effects through sequential autoregressive modeling, and (5) Applying explainable AI to quantify environmental and human impacts on biodiversity.
